A Wonderful Bouquet of Awards

9 Jun

Once again, my dear friend Ajaytao blessed me with three awards of my choosing.  This time I will pass them on to seven individuals whose blogs have inspired and/or educated me day after day, but don’t despair, that essentially fits all of you!  If I don’t get to you this time, I certainly will in the future.  Thank you, Ajaytao, for this generous bestowal.

I will follow the rules for the Sunshine Award, which are as follows:

1. Blog a post linking back to the person/blog who nominated you.

2. Answer a few questions and nominate 10 bloggers (I chose 7 because I don’t want to keep bombarding the same people with awards 🙂 ), linking their blogs to your post.

3. Leave a comment on the blogs you have nominated.

Okay, now onto the questions.

1. Who is your favorite philosopher?  None. I never was interested in reading up on philosophers because they are just people like me who develop a certain view on life and the world around them.  I can understand why others might be interested in hearing their opinions, but it is not for me.  I believe in developing my own philosophy and sticking with that instead.

2. What is your favorite number?  7  I know, that’s not being too original.  😛

3. What is your favorite animal?  Dogs, for sure!  I was raised with them and owned some in my adult life.  They are sweet, affectionate, playful and loyal.  I couldn’t ask for more.

4. What are your Facebook/Twitter URL’s?  http://www.facebook.com/laura.elliott.798 and http://twitter.com/chandanimane.  Free free to connect!

5. What is your favorite time of day?  That depends on if it’s a work day or not.  I think I might be more of a morning person, but I get up very early during the week and get ready for work.  That’s not so much fun.  On those days, the late afternoon to early evening is nice because I get to sit down with my computer and eat dinner.  On my days off when I’m not going anywhere, I think I like mornings the best, before other people get up.  It’s a nice and quiet and relaxing time of day.

6. What was your favorite vacation?  I haven’t gone on too many.  I’m hoping that one that is potentially coming up next year will be my favorite.  I am looking into going to Miami.  I have been to Cancun in the 1980’s with my parents.  That’s one to remember just because I haven’t been outside of the U.S. since then.

7. What is your favorite physical activity?  Walking outside in warm weather.  I do the ellipticals and exercise bike too, but with walking, I get the additional benefit of sunshine.  Apt for this award, isn’t it?  😀

8. What is you favorite non-alcoholic drink?  Water.  I try to stay healthy, and I drink water throughout the day and night.

9. What is your favorite flower? I don’t really know my horticulture, so I will say the rose for its scent.

10. What is your passion? That is a broad question.  Let me just say that I am on the eternal quest for more happiness in life and the endless improvement of my character.  We can never be perfect, but we can always keep trying.  🙂

Now for the bloggers I am going to nominate:

Michelle Marie

Aisling

The Talent Flush

Kavita Joshi

Valeriu D. G. Barbu

Dear Kitty

Please accept whichever one, or all three for that matter, and enjoy!

The Lovely Blog and Versatile Blogger Awards

25 May

ImageImage

I am once again honored by being bestowed with the Lovely Blog and Versatile Blogger Awards from my friend Ajaytao, who so generously told friends to accept whichever two out of many that they so desire.  I have not known Ajaytao for long, but from reading his blog and viewing his photos, I can tell that he is an exceptional person who is deeply kind and down to earth.  Please check out his blog when you can.  I find his photos both fascinating and soothing at times, and his quotes are truly inspirational.

I am going to do something different this time.  Whoever reads this is automatically given one of these awards, and you can choose whichever one you want.  Instead of badgering certain people with it, lol, I’m going to let each and every one of you take one because I believe that you all deserve it.  🙂

Now 7 things about myself:

1. I am an introvert, although I used to be more so when I was younger.  Now, after gaining some experience, I am more talkative and sociable than I used to be.
2. Many moons ago, I studied classical piano, but I haven’t touched one in years.  My main hobby nowadays is writing and online roleplaying.
3. I am a very cautious person.  I don’t go on airplanes anymore, and the only adventurous thing I’ve ever done was gone parasailing in Cancun many years ago.  If I had my way, I wouldn’t get in a car either because when I think about it, it’s stupid to put my life at risk like that, but I do have to go to work to pay the bills, so what else can I do?
4. One glass of wine is all I need to loosen up.  Two glasses is even better, but after that, I might fall asleep.
5. I can outdo my 20 year old son in the disgusting sexual innuendo joke department.
6. I consider myself an expert at passing out, be it from anxiety, illness or too many drinks (just once).  I’ve reached the point where I know I’m going to pass out beforehand, but I haven’t gotten so far as to lie down on the floor first yet.  Hence, the nasty bumps on my forehead.

The rules are the same for both awards, so whichever you choose, listing seven things about yourself is all that you need to do.  Here is to wishing every American a happy Memorial Day weekend, and for the rest of you, have a wonderful weekend as well!

Super Sweet Award and Best Moment Award

11 May

From my sweet new friend, Kavita Joshi, I hereby humbly accept this Super Sweet Award as well as the Best Moment Award, which I recently also was graciously given by Dear Kitty.  I just had the pleasure and great fortune to meet Kavita and connect to her blog, which I have greatly enjoyed reading so far.  Judging from her About page and what I’ve read in her recent posts, she is adventurous, loves life and is also sociable and deeply kind-hearted towards others.  How wonderful it is to meet such people on the Internet!

Since I just posted about the Best Moment Award and nominated a number of exceptionally engaging bloggers (it was hard to make my decision!), I will focus solely on the Super Sweet Award for this time around.

If I nominated you recently for more than one award, please forgive me, but being that I’m new here, I am just building up my list of friends, and as I am enjoying reading all of your blogs on a daily basis, it’s hard to choose.  Also, if you don’t wish to put up your own post, that is fine.  I simply wanted to pass this one on to you.  🙂

The Rules:
    •    Thank the Super Sweet Blogger that nominated you.
    •    Answer five Super Sweet questions.
    •    Include the Super Sweet Blogging award image in your blog post.
    •    Nominate a baker’s dozen (12) other bloggers.
    •    Notify your nominees on their blog.

The 5 Super Sweet Questions:
    1.    Cookies or Cake? Cookies.  Don’t ask me why, but I can forego all other sweets if cookies are available.  Perhaps because they’re smaller and tasty and that means I can eat more of them?  😉
    2.    Chocolate or Vanilla?  Chocolate all the way, baby!
    3.    Favourite Sweet Treat? Natural peanut butter with a) brown sugar, b) jelly, or c) chocolate chips, on a spoon.
    4.    When do you crave sweet things the most? Between dinner and bedtime, the worse time of day to crave anything.
    5.    Sweet Nick Name? Treasure

Now I present this award to the following bloggers:

1. Christian Mihai
2. Aristonorganic
3. Mejuffrouwj
4 Elena Selivan
5. The Dimwit Diary
6. My Food and Flowers
7. Ajaytao 2010
8. Pindanpost
9. Africandream01
10. Hope Gardens
11. Cancerkillingrecipe
12. Claire Atkinson

Congratulations to all of you!

ACCEPTANCE SPEECH

I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dear Kitty who nominated me for this award just as I was starting to find my way around this site.  Although it’s been a few months since I joined, I still feel very new, and although I find it difficult to find the time to post regularly, it is always a pleasant place to visit and to share and to make new friends.  I am going to precede the humor portion by asserting that I am in no way like this!  Grumpy Cat makes me laugh because her grumpiness is so ridiculous.  😛
